Enough is Enough

For years we have endured the hardships, endured the oppression; endured the inequalities and dishonesty that has plagued our nation for years.

I am saddened by what has happened in Tivoli, but as saddened as I am I see that it had to come to this before many woke up to the horrors of our nation, the nation that we live in. It may not be any different than what is happening anywhere else in the world, but it is a reality that finally seems to, and had to hit home before many saw the seriousness of our situation. Not distracted by the trivial that surrounds us each day.

The time has finally come where the people have said enough is enough. Enough to suffering, enough to the crime and violence that has plagued our nation, enough to corrupt politics and politicians, and are finally making their voices known. We have finally stood up and are now in a position to take back our nation as our own.

However, everyone needs to now understand that just saying enough just isn’t enough. We have been given a clear opportunity to set things right and set our country in order, to finally rebuild the future we all wish to see. To realize a new hope and a new frontier stemming amidst the destruction that has encircled us as a nation. Understand that we can’t sit and rely on someone else to do it for us. If you wish to realize and embrace a particular future, our particular future, then we have to be the ones to do the work to see that particular future. Relying on others to realize it for us means that it will not be our future but their future at our expense.

If we follow the waves of history we will realize that over the years depending on politics and politicians to set things right in our own nation has only lead to our own detriment, and as such we can no longer allow a political influence to determine what is best for us, but we must take the mantle and reigns and drive the horse into the direction we wish to go.

We need to change our mindset towards life and situations. No longer talking about the solution, but implementing the solution. Too often I realize that there are too many “experts” and “analysts” and yet no result-oriented and action-driven individuals who are actually doing the action that relates to the solution.

The days of complacency are over, complaining doesn’t solve the problem it furthers the problem. Blaming and finger pointing need to stop, if you aren’t willing to be a part of the solution-driven force then you have no right or reason to be blaming others efforts, but blaming your inaction. Laziness and dependency is our biggest threat, it’s time we stop depending on others to find a solution to our problem, and for them to create our future, it’s time we found and created our own.

Finally, working together towards a common goal and a common future is the most important. For one, one person cannot do it by his or herself, it must be a combined effort and all of us making that contribution necessary to seeing it happen. Two, we have to work together towards the same end, because if the goal is not shared then there will be division and confusion bringing us back to square one. Three, we must all feel as though we have a part to play and not that some individual’s solutions are better than others, it is a ‘our future’ effort, not a ‘my future’ effort. Hence, we must all feel as though we have a part to play to shape the future of our nation, and we should take the responsibility and play that part.

God has given us this once in a lifetime opportunity to set things right and through His divine power and Will Jamaica Reformation Project for one will be there to answer that call and wish you would as well.

Share this and let the people know…The time is now!

The Future of Us All

I sat and thought about the future of all of us; as Jamaicans and as individuals living in the world.

I came to the conclusion that there is no hope left in the world. People no longer care and things will only get worse from herein. Nothing will ever change and forever remain the same; there is absolutely nothing any of us can do about it.

Still…wouldn’t it be great if one day we could wake up to see a world we’ve always dreamt of? If one day crime no longer became an issue in our country, communities or even our homes. If one day the people became first priority, instead of political self interest and who can do the better job. If one day opportunity truly existed for us all instead of saying it does when it doesn’t. If one day we started caring more about each other instead of only ourselves. If one day morality and integrity was the driving force of our nation and those who led it. If one day each person helped another better themselves and live a fulfilled life. If one day love for self and others was second nature. If one day the lives of our children and others were seen as the precious gifts they are. If one day we realized that we are all greatly made and therefore can achieve greatly. If one day we were no longer limited by what we think we can do but by what we know we have already done in the future?

Know what we have already done in the future??? How can you know what you have done if you haven’t done it yet? Simple, all it takes is a mere thought that it has already been accomplished; it’s just a matter of doing the action to support that thought. Every ‘What If’ started with a thought that led to a dream that became a reality. Martin Luther King said it best…”I have a dream”, not “I have a plan”, because plans can be broken, changed, strayed from or lead to inaction through difficult trials, but a dream is everlasting, it never dies only transforms to a reality.

What if we could all be “One nation under God, increase in beauty, fellowship and prosperity, and play our part to advance the welfare of the whole human race”…this is my dream.

What if we could make that one day right now? If we all came together as one; one goal, one nation, one future. All it takes is one person to believe, and I believe that it can be done, which is why I have sacrificed my life to seeing it happen.

One person, with one dream, making one step, one day at a time.

At least think about it.

All the Best.

Give others hope, pass on the message so that others can believe too.

Ending the Cries of a Nation

With the kidnapping and killing of innocent children, and the skyrocketed murder rate engulfing Jamaica, it seems everyone is now realizing that Jamaica has gotten to a state of desperation that only God can truly set things right in our nation.

Unfortunately, many fail to see that the state the country is currently in is not by mere coincidence; these are the last days and things are only about to get worse. Even more so while everyone is waiting on God to finally intervene and stop the suffering, God is still waiting on us to give our lives to Him. What this means is that God is waiting on us to come back to Him, to come back to a life of righteousness and uprightness before He will truly choose to do something about the current state the country is in.

Why does a country whose national anthem starts with Our Father bless our land, guide us with thy mighty hand, or a pledge that starts Before God and all mankind, I pledge the love and loyalty of my heart, is filled with so much violence, hatred, and ungodliness? Why is it so difficult for us to turn to God completely for help? Why is God the last place we choose to look for redemption and restoration?

God is not an object to be picked up and used whenever we see fit. To cry to and pray to when things are at its worse and then as soon as things are well again we forget about Him and go back to living our own lives. Just put yourself in His shoes; I am sure that no one wants to be used and only remembered when someone wants something from us. I am sure as humans after awhile we will begin to refuse helping those who use us and turning a blind eye and ear to helping those in need that take advantage of our kindness.

God does not like to see us suffer; sadly, as human beings lessons are better learned through hardships and pain. Furthermore, I can say that things are only about to get worse. The only reason why they have not as yet is God’s love and mercy for us. He is still holding back, but we all need to ask ourselves: how long will God be willing to hold back?

God is waiting to see how long we will wait before finally turning our lives over to Him and truly trusting Him to deliver Jamaica. He wants desperately to take Jamaica out of its current distress. However, He will not until we have come back to Him, not just until things get better but stay in Him even after.

So the question remains: how bad must things become before we finally begin turning our lives completely to God and trusting in Him?

I am not here to tell anyone how to live their lives, all I am doing is cautioning everyone. If you want things to change then something has to be sacrificed. Do not expect to live your lives the way you currently are filled with unrighteousness and expect God to intervene and change things around for the better.

So the choice is up to you, what will you choose?

Prosperity through Hardships

“But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.” - Genesis 15:14

“Whenever God brings you through a time of great adversity, you can expect to come out of that experience with great possessions, if you have been faithful through the trial.”-Os Hillman

I took these two quotes from something I read recently which spoke to me deeply. Reason being is both hold significant truth and both lead to the same conclusion…true prosperity in life can only come about through hardships.

When I speak of prosperity it not only refers to financial prosperity but there are other, deeper levels of prosperity that exists, such as spiritual, inner growth (self realization), and wisdom, to name a few.

Prosperity exists in many forms; there are many who would love to prosper in anything they seek to achieve in life, yet many fail to realize that the greater the level of prosperity, the greater the hardship that must be endured. There is a reason why only a select few seem to be the ones to prosper in life and most do not. It has nothing to do with greater intelligence or greater opportunities or being more favoured by God, it is simply because the people who are most successful in life typical had to endure hardships that most of us would have never been able to.

Many look at the end result without knowing the process that one had to go through in order to get to that end result, and it all began with struggle and hardship.

The Israelites were enslaved for 400 years before they were freed by Moses to live in the land God had promised them. Joseph was betrayed by his own brothers, sold and enslaved in Egypt before later rising to become a man of great wealth and power, and second to Pharaoh. David was persecuted by Saul tirelessly and if it wasn’t for his faith and endurance to the end he would not have been king over Israel.

Need to be further convinced? Bob Marley was constantly persecuted in his early life for his religious beliefs which ironically were seen as non-acceptable then but is iconic today. Speak about Black oppression and the Black liberation and mention names such as Marcus Garvey, Malcom X, Martin Luther, Nelson Mandela or Rosa Parks. All these men and woman had to endure hardships of oppression until the end so that we may receive the prosperity of freedom today.

No matter how you choose to view it everything comes down to the same conclusion, prosperity can only be achieved through hardships. Do not see hardships as a deterrent in achieving what you want to in life or see it as an agent designed to oppress and keep you from your aspired dreams. See hardships as a tool that is used to strengthen, instigate wisdom, and help realize true prosperity, financial or otherwise.

Once you are able to view hardships in a positive rather than a negative I guarantee you that you will be surprise to see how little and less struggles in life affect you negatively and your entire outlook and approach towards life will change. I for one welcome hardships because I know it can only lead to greater prosperity.

Diamonds can’t become diamonds without enduring immense levels of pressure and heat beneath the earth’s surface. It is the same for us before we as coal can become diamonds we have to go through the fire and pressures of life, and be thrown in the dirt and sometimes even lower and beneath dirt.

The true test of who is truly deserving comes from hardships in life, faith during those times and endurance to the end, and from this prosperity shall be realized.

So when life becomes a bit too much to bear just remember that your prosperity is waiting for you in the end, just endure the hardship a bit more.

All the Best.
